Ambato

Ambato is one of the most important cities in Ecuador, its located in Tungurahua province. Its very famous because of its carnival, which is celebrated every year.

In carnival, cities like Guaranda people celebrate by throw water; In Ambato flowers and fruits.
There are lots of parades and a festival with music, artist and dances. It’s a very cultural city because their traditions are still alive in each festival. There you can enjoy of the election of the queen of the city, the interparochial queen and catholic rites as the bread blessing.

One thing you will love about Ambato is: it´s gastronomy. There´s an important dish its cuy. In Some European countries cuys are pets, so tourist do not like so much to eat them, but I have tried and its really delicious.

Quito it’s a big city; Ambato a tiny one. Along it´s history, Ambato has been destroyed many times because of the earthquakes. The last earthquake was in 1949 and the city take 2 years, in honor to this perseverance of the people to rebuild their city, each year Ambato organize the party of flowers and fruits.

Now, lots of tourist goes to visit Tungurahua volcano, people sold volcanic rocks and pictures of the explosions. The person from the city has learned to be with the threat of an explosion.

Ambato is a cultural city that I recommend everyone to visit.
